Goodbye September!

Finally...the first blog post of the year! I apologize that it has taken so long to get the blog up and running. From here on out, you can expect to see posts just about every week. I will do my best to have them written by Friday evenings!

Exciting things have been happening this week. Our class caterpillars came last Monday! Dog, Jaw, Fire, Transformer, and Pat have already made their way into their next stage of life and we can expect to see butterflies sometime next week!

During Reading Workshop we:

• Practiced acting out stories we know
• Looked closely at each page as we were reading
• Introduced transition words 
• Got our very own book baskets! 

During Writing Workshop we:

• Leaned how to write labels
• Wrote stories about our caterpillars
• Got our own writing folders

During Math we:

• Introduced math stations
• Learned to play Top It
• Used pattern blocks to create shape patterns
